The GAMM Fachausschuss Computational Biomechanics

The GAMM Fachausschuss Computational Biomechanics workshop was held at the Chair of Applied Mechanics of Saarland University from February 13th to 14th. The meeting was organized by Prof Dr.-Ing. Stefan Diebels's team to provide a platform for collaborations between the fields of engineers and mathematicians as well as professionals from the medical field with the goal to gain a deeper understanding of the biomechanics of human tissue.

Researchers from all over Germany met up to share their ideas and visions on a wide range of topics with a focus on computational modelling and simulation using continuum mechanics and other numerical methods combined with experimental studies and also machine learning methods.

IMSB researchers Yesid Villota and Jana Disch contributed to the discussions on skeletal muscle tissue and metabolism, and had a pleasant time in Saarbrücken. They express their gratitude to the 2023 meeting organizers and the Computational Biomechanics Fachausschuss organizers, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tim Ricken, Dr.-Ing Silvia Budday, and Prof. Dr. Oliver Röhrle, for their hard work and dedication making the event possible.
