Yesid Villota and Prof. Röhrle at the GAMM in Dresden

June 5, 2023 / SIS

Yesid Villota, researcher of the CBM-group of Prof. Oliver Röhrle and member of the SPP2311, visited the GAMM Annual Meeting in Dresden.

The largest conference for applied mathematics and mechanics in Germany was hosted by Technische Universität Dresden, and took place from 30th of May until 2nd of June. Scientists and researchers on a wide spectrum gathered in the historical city of Dresden to present, hear, and discuss ideas and results on a variety of fields going from solid and fluid mechanics to numerical mathematics and Scientific computation.

The GAMM Annual Meeting celebrated its 100th anniversary with a public lecture by distinguished Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Ehlers, who emphasized the great impact of the GAMM organization in advancing scientific knowledge and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

Collaboration is key for the successful development of the DFG Priority Programs. In this regard, Yesid Villota underlined the crucial role of data sharing and collaboration in the context of modeling and simulation research with his contribution to the SPP2311 session (Robust Coupling of Continuum-biomechanical In Silico Models to Establish Active Biological System Models for Later Use in Clinical Applications).
